Where are you from?
I'm a native of Montgomery County. Born and raised in Upper Dublin. I've lived in Japan and New Zealand for a month, and Idaho for five. I guess you could say I caught a bit of the the travel bug.
Where are you going to college?
I just graduated from Upper Dublin High School. In the fall, I'll be a freshman at Stanford University where I plan on studying Earth Science.
What are some of your interests?
Pretty much anything that has to do with the environment and science. Backpacking, restoration work, biking, farming, whitewater kayaking--you name it! I see science as an essential framework to understand the workings of the environment. I want to address critical issues by relating scientific theories to the demands of the real world. I think community outreach is very important, and I work with a lot of kids through Girl Scouts, my school's Robotics Team, Speech & Debate Team and Catalyst for Success Chapter (STEM outreach).
What kind of biking do you do?
Well I love hitting Horsham's Power Line Trail for a nice afternoon ride. I'll usually use my roadbike, a Cannondale Quick Speed 3, for my rides. I also love my trusty 1999 Specialized FSR mountain bike. She's so reliable and the full suspension is great when I'm feeling bold. I really hope I can get more involved in cycling in college.
What helmet do you wear?
I'd be lying if I said I used to wear my helmet all the time. Since working with AnneeLondon, I realize the importance of wearing a helmet. So, I reluctantly sport my bulky, youth bell helmet. My head is so dang small!
Why do you like biking?
For me, it's a great opportunity to get exercise, clear my mind, and spend time outside. I only recently got a car, so I'd bike to friends houses and such. Although my town doesn't have great biking infrastructure.
What made you decide to join the AnneeLondon team?
I'm excited to be a part of a company with an innovative product and empowering message! I think it's a great way to combine my interest in biking and gain work experience.
